Hard paws thudded against the rough surface of rock near the river. Theme had wandered off of his territory...again. He never did pay attention to his alpha...at least not usually. The large brute leaned over the pools edge to take a sip of the cool blue water. He paused for a moment, lifted his head, and took one more gulp before backing up. He didn't want to be caught slipping out of the lands again, but he wasn't up to anything bad this time...he was actually innocent; alone, but innocent. Theme moved with confidence, for he new nobody would dare challenge him, even if he was on neutral territory. The brute hastily moved his feet in search of shade. Theme hated the warmth, but he must have hated daylight more. Theme walked through a more shallow portion of the river in order to find his beloved darkness.
Once there he sat on his rump before flopping down on his left side. There Theme laid, ignoring the scents of the prey and other wolves around him. He was hoping for a quiet evening alone, but he almost never gets what he wants. Theme shut his eyes and turned in his ears, maybe it is time for a nap.

Squinting her eyes against the harsh sunlight filtering in through her den, Floare grumpily awoke. The fae smacked her lips and yawned sleepily as she squeezed out of her home, eager to get a bite to eat. She gazed around the clearing, but no other wolves were present to go hunting with, particularly her beta, Theme. The two didn't get along well, but she didn't mind hunting with him once in a while. Ugh! Why does he always go off on his own? That lousy, flea-ridden, mongrel! Floare, not off to a good start for the day, trotted out to the neutral territories to seek out Theme. Her paws thudded against the leaf-covered ground as her trotting turned into a run. While the wind was ruffling her pelt, a new scent came to her senses. The fae slowed down to a walk and then stopped to raise her nose in the air. She stood motionless until she could get the best whiff possible.Ah hah. Found him. She headed in the general direction that the brute's scent was coming from, ready to give him a little piece of her mind on wondering off this far without telling her. Although not many fights happen that often out in the neutral territories, there is still a possibility of being ambushed. After all, trusting the other packs was out of the question! Who knows what kind of backstabbing liars are in the other packs? After walking along the riverbank for a little while, the alpha female was finally able to rest her eyes upon the runaway. Walking up to him and realizing he was asleep, she said nothing, although she wished she would have. The fae smacked his face with her paw, not hard, but enough to quickly awake him. All she had to now was give him "the look", and stand in his presence until he met her glare.

Theme didn't dream, for if he had his mind would have drifted into a fake reality...no...Theme didn't dream. Theme's whiskers twitched and his eyes shut farther. Twack, and Theme's somewhat peaceful sleep and calmness was no more. He opened his eyes quickly, snapping them open and focusing his orbs on the one who woke him. Upon seeing his alpha Theme saw the look he'd seen several times before. A smirk rose across his maw, "Floare" He groggily sat up, and pawed at his eyes. "How simply wonderful it is to see you miss Floare." He mused. Of course he was joking, for he was never really thrilled about seeing another wolf. Theme gazed up at the sky just above his alpha, seeing the sky was still bright has day, Theme groaned softly. He shook himself and sat once more, "What are you here for m'dear? Any tasks or missions for me? Or maybe you're just lonely" Theme slid the words out of his mouth before he even realized it, he just hoped his mouth wouldn't get himself into trouble...again. Theme thought of all of the trouble he had gotten into recently, not that he was ashamed of course.

IF YOU CLOSE YOUR EYES and you open your mindThe aspen river was the main source of water for the wolves of the land of Dracul. Sure, each pack had their own creeks or ponds, but the aspen river branched off in all directions, supplying the flora and fauna with as much as was needed to survive. The river was one of Leda's favorite places. Her pack, the Nerion, had camped here as nomads before officially staking a claim to the western forest. She would have taken the river for her own had she not known that it was a place of peace and neutrality. Still, she wandered here every once in a while by herself to enjoy the beauty and smile of the fond memories. It was here that she had shifted from one role to the next: from a traveler to an alpha. She took the pack like a wild mustang takes a domesticated herd, with power and ease, and then she took the land. She thought about this now as her paws led her over the soft ground, jaws parted slightly to drink in the scent of clean water and the pine trees. She was met, however, with the scent of something else. Wolves. Leda shifted to the left, her paws carrying her quietly to the river bank. Lifting her head, she scanned the other side and easily spotted two wolves. One was standing, a gray wolf from what she could see. The other was laying down, and it looked black from her distance. The air smelled of both male and female, but she couldn't tell which scent belonged to whom. Swiveling her ears in their direction, she caught no sound coming from either. Shaking out the mane of fur around her neck, she figured that it could do no harm to investigate further and placed her front paws into the clear river water. It was shallow at this point, and she crossed with ease, swirling dirt around her legs. Stepping out onto the ground on the other side, she shook the water from her fur and headed over. Ah, now she could smell it- the scent of pack wolves. Being new to the area, the Nerion wasn't quite acquainted with the other packs, but now as as good a time as any to introduce herself. Upon moving even closer, she watched as the standing wolf smacked the one laying down over the head. Well that's an interesting way to greet someone.. Then she heard the one laying down speak and identified him as the male and the other as the female. He called her Floare, and his voice seemed to have some sarcasm to it. Shrugging to herself, the white and cream female made her way toward them. It might have been rude, but she interrupted their little meeting. "Greetings, you two.." Her voice was soft and she let the words hang, unsure of how these two wolves would take to an outsider trying to converse with them. Floare, pleased with herself, watched as her unexpected smack awoke the black wolf. She sat, still glaring at him as he answered to her with sarcasm. Rolling her eyes, she spoke, "It is most certainly wonderful to see you as well, my dear Theme," she squinted at him. "If anything, you're the lonely one, coming out here in such a secluded area...Anyway, I was wondering," Floare began, looking directly at Theme,"would you assist me in hunting today? I can imagine how hungry a lonely soul like you could be!" Floare laughed, but was cut short when she heard a fae's gentle, but startling hello. What the?...Who in the world could this be? The alpha calmly flicked her ear and turned to the new face, her stare not friendly, but not aggressive. She tilted her head curiously, "Greetings, may I ask..who you are exactly?" She turned to Theme and exchanged glances, wondering if he was thinking like she was. Of course he isn't... he's too stupid to take precautions. No matter how nice a wolf may appear in front of you, you must always be ready for anything to happen. Although Floare didn't expect much out of this confrontation, she remained cautious, being sure not to show it on the outside. She kept a calm appearance with her ears facing forward towards the new fae, awaiting her response.

Words words words, Theme heard many words run through Floare's mouth. He only pad attention to the purpose of Floare searching him out. 'Oh' Theme thought, 'here we go.' ,"would you assist me in hunting today? I can imagine how hungry a lonely soul like you could be!" Theme's ears pricked at the ask. "Hmph. Of course my alpha." His eyes wandered to the left as his nose caught a different smell. Theme stood up graciously in order to get a peak at the new wolf entering his vision. For a moment Theme sidelined his alpha in order to catch a glimpse of the newcomer. Upon seeing the fae he thumped back onto his rump. Yawning, Theme listened to his alpha's words as she spoke. "Greetings, may I ask..who you are exactly?" Theme snorts, he would never have worded the sentence so...kindly. A simple who are you and get out of my face would have worked for him. Instead he sat silently, glancing from his alpha to the unknown wolf. Theme could tell from her scent that she was not part of his pack, but he couldn't quite place which pack she was part of. Theme scratched his ear twice and his tail flickered to the right. He was cool as a cat, his expression nonchalant and his body language relaxed.

IF YOU CLOSE YOUR EYES and you open your mindThe Nerion pack had only been official for a few weeks and Leda had not had the chance yet to become acquainted with the surrounded wolves. On her many tangents of being alone, she hadn't come across anyone from another pack- only one lone wolf and a few deer. Of course she rarely had ventured this far, only a few times since settling in the west. This meeting was interesting to her for a couple of reason. One, she was excited to meet her 'neighbors' and two, she was thrilled to introduce herself as an alpha. It was all so new to her, being on the run as a nomad for so long and then finding her way at the top of a pack of misfits and the like. She was excited and scared at the same time, but with a flick of her tail, she decided to only let the excitement show and push down her fear. It wouldn't be wise to let these wolves know anything that could put herself or her pack in harm's way- not until she was completely certain that the Nerion could handle themselves in the face of danger. She was used to living with strangers, but she had to think differently now. The mixed female turned to face her first, and Leda held her stare. When she spoke, her voice held wonder but not aggression. She then flicked her amber gaze to the darker male, who had assumed a more.. 'confrontational' position by sitting up. Holding back a smirk that threatened to escape at the way the male was interacting with the other female, she again looked at the wolf standing in front of her. She took a few moments to take her in. The female was bigger than her, probably stronger as well, but she didn't look threatening at the time. From experience, she knew that a wolf could shift into attack mode at any time, and it was best to not say or do anything to cause her to snap, especially with how weak her own fighting skills were. Flicking a white ear, she smiled briefly. "My name is Leda. I am the alpha of the Nerion pack, we have recently settled in the western forest and marshland. I wasn't expecting to meet anyone today, I was just taking a look around." Her gaze was soft and her body was relaxed, and she waited quietly for one of the two to say something in return. Floare held her tail out as she gazed into the fae's amber eyes. She wasn't sure what to think. This wolf sounded polite and innocent, but at the same time, mysterious. She's obviously a newcomer here, too nice for my own personal liking. "You've just settled in, huh? Well," she suppressed a mild smirk,"I am Floare, alpha of the Kervian pack." Floare, for once, did not worry if Theme came off as rude to this new fae. She didn't want an enemy, but for this new pack to know that she is not fun and games. She was respected for the most part by other wolves and wanted it to stay that way, for her sake. She turned to Theme, hinting to him to introduce himself. So, she wondered to herself, what is this new pack here for exactly? Are they actually friendly, or do they want something?... Floare was very uncertain, but remained persistent in order to keep her current status,"Are you guys...staying where you currently are?" she gazed directly at Leda, a slight hint of mischief in her dull, icy blue eyes.

Theme sat rather politely in the presence of the two fae's, and for one he payed attention to the ongoing exchange of words. He paid close attention to the body language of Floare and also to the newcomer, just in case he had to make a move for his protection...and maybe his alpha's. Theme thought to himself about the few scenario's that could arise from the possible confrontation, but all of the doubt went away as the new fae introduced herself lightly. "My name is Leda. I am the alpha of the Nerion pack, we have recently settled in the western forest and marshland. I wasn't expecting to meet anyone today, I was just taking a look around." Theme processed the information, he hadn't heard much about the new-found Nerion pack, so he was unsure what to think. However, Theme did think the fae didn't look all that menacing, and heck, he may have some fun playing around with her brain later on...if his alpha ever left him alone with her. "You've just settled in, huh? Well," she suppressed a mild smirk,"I am Floare, alpha of the Kervian pack." Theme's gaze and attention wandered back to his alpha, and when he could tell she wanted him to introduce himself, Theme gazed into the eyes of Leda and spoke, "If you were looking for the beta of the Kervian pack, that would be me, Theme's the name, and honestly if you were smart you wouldn't mess with me." He didn't speak threateningly, but more as a matter-of-fact fashion. Theme didn't like to be messed with, he only likes to mess with others. He was blunt honest, most wolves didn't mess with Theme, as he was scary enough to look at, with his large size and muscle mass, but also for his demeanor. Theme had no problem quarreling with a wolf who messed with him, alpha or no alpha. His gaze drifted back to Floare, and he gave a slight twinkle to his eye, sure she may not have been thrilled with his word choice, but they always had slight disagreements anyhow.
Of course, Theme didn't always feel like messing with the ladies.
